Museum.History=' The Rail Museum building was acquired in 1980, a vandalized vacant shell that had stood idle for over 20 years. Using a combination of private donations, government funds, and volunteer labor, the building was brought back to its original appearance. From the brick-walled baggage room to the multi-windowed "Ladies Retiring Room", everyting in the building is either a restored original or an exact duplicate based on the original architectural plans.

Sainte Marie among the Iroquois houses a museum that tells of the adventures of the French Jesuits who were invited by the Haudenosaunee in 1657. The museum recalls the history of the French and their voyage to the new world as well as their customs; the ways of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and the interactions of these to groups.

The mission site is a replica of the actual mission site built in 1657 and provides an excellent backdrop for costumed interpretors who demenstrate some of the daily activities of the French during that timeframe.
