Art, Historic House
This structure houses two museums. Carter's Grove, a James River plantation with a history spanning 400 years. The house was built in the 1750s by Carter Burwell and was restored to the Colonial Revival style in the 1930s by Mr. and Mrs. Archibald McRea. The Archaeology museum is a permanent collection of early 17th century Native American artifacts excavated from the Wolstenholme Towne site. Operated by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
