Church, Historic House, Historical Society

This is a Church building built in 1854 with slave labor. It served as a prison for 97 soldiers of the 30th Illinois from the Battle of Briton Lane which is four miles behind the church. It is being restored. The building has hand hewn lumber, put together with square nails and windows made on site. There was a Masonic Lodge on the second floor with a pit for induction of converts to the York Rite of the lodge. One of only two known in Tennessee. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This cemetery is on the original site of the Denmark Presbyterian Church established in 1820. It is the largest cemetery in this area. There are grave dating back to 1823 many Civil War Soldiers are buried here. Two whose bodies were brought her after the Battle of Britton Lane which is four miles from the cemetery. It has Many stones made of White Marble form Italy. General John Ingram, Comander of the Denmark Danes is buired here. Civil War Comander.
