Georgia's only independent African American museum of fine arts. Exhibits feature a permanent collection with works by Romare Bearden, Robert S. Duncanson and William Traylor and contemporary works by Lois Jones and Louis Delsarte.

Historic Oakland Foundation (HOF), a non-profit organization, was established in 1976 and is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and interpretation of Oakland.
