The museum is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the fishermen and watermen of Virginia's Northern Neck and the Chesapeake Bay by acquiring, documenting and displaying historically important items in the galleries and through traveling exhibits and educational programming.
The collections consists of hundreds of waterfowling artifacts including decoys, guns, boats, antiques, a restored hunting carriage, a decoy shop, and much more. Artifacts are beautifully and educationally displayed.
