Davidson County Historical Museum

The museum is located in one of the county's premiere historic structures, the Old Davidson County Courthouse (1858). The museum has changing exhibits, genealogical research and provides outreach programs for the local school systems.

Dr. Josephus W. Hall House

Salisbury, North Carolina

History

House built in l820 as Salisbury Female Academy. Purchased by Josephus Hall in l852. Dr. Hall was the surgeon at the Salisbury Confederate Prison located five blocks from the house.

Dean E. Smith Center

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

History

The Smith Center is home to Carolina athletics and the site of the University of North Carolina's home basketball games. A memorabilia room housing artifacts and trophies from Carolina's rich athletic tradition is located on the 2nd floor of the center

Duke Homestead State Historic Site

The site includes a modern visitors center that features a permanent exhibition entitled "People in Tobacco."
At Duke Homestead, visitors can see the early home, factories, and farm where Washington Duke first grew and processed tobacco. Duke's sons later founded The American Tobacco Company, the largest tobacco company in the world.
