Historical Society

Founded in 1904, the state's oldest museum offers permanent exhibits that encompass prehistoric times to the present.

Permanent art exhibits include Wanamaker Wild Animals of the World Exhibit, Ansel Adams Photography, Edward Weston Photography and featured local artists. Northeastern Nevada historical exhibits include Spring Creek Mastodon (prehistoric remains), area ranching, mining, wildlife, fossils, firearms, local Native American history, Chinese of the West, Hispanics of the West, local Basque history, area railroads, ghost towns, mining camps, and area geology plus much more. Changing exhibits include local artists and traveling exhibits. Our museum store features local arts & crafts, books, souvenirs, maps, gifts and much more.

Historical Society

The museum depicts Southern Nevada's plants, animals, fossils and history from the Ice Age to modern times.
