Mission, goals and programs of the Jacobsburg Historical Society
The mission of the Jacobsburg Historical Society is to preserve the art and industry of making early American firearms, and the character of the individuals and community that created and sustained that enterprise.
The Society was founded in 1972 to preserve and interpret the historical Henry family estate and early industrial properties, the family's gun and iron making heritage and to help establish the Jacobsburg National Historic District.

The "Mainline in Miniature" HO train model with details of the Portage Pennsylvania Train Depot and mainline railway is under construction. Train buffs applaud this historic undertaking.

The Peters Creek Historical Society preserves the heritage and historic sites of the township. The society runs the Wright House, an 1815 Georgian brick house museum. It features period furnishings, artifacts, and an authentic colonial kitchen.

Our mission is to make as many records available as possible. Covering the entire Painted Hills Area of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania. Our society also strives to educate others, while making the field of genealogy fun and exciting to young and old.
