The Benson Hammond House serves as the Ann Arrundell County Historical Society's headquarters and museum. A truck farm from 1830-1930, the museum contains many artifacts from local truck farms and contains an extensive picker check collection that reflects the system used by early farmers in the area to pay farm workers.

The David C. Driskell Center is proud to present and preserve its collection of works by African American artists. The collection includes works by well known artists, such as Romare Bearden, David C. Driskell, Sam Gilliam, Jacob Lawrence, Keith Morrison, and Charles White. The Center's art collection will continue to grow through support from the Driskell Center Acquisition Fund. The Center's art collection is anchored by a gift of artworks from the David C. Driskell Collection of African American Art.

Encounter what life in the past was like on and by the water in the “Harvesting the Bay” exhibit and our newest exhibit, Beyond Jamestown: Life 400 Years Ago, which tracks John Smiths travel up the Chesapeake Bay and his encounters with the Native Americans. Engage in the boat building way of life through the Chesapeake Wooden Boat Building School, where students preserve the timeless art of wooden boat building.

The Irish Railroad Workers Museum is a historic site in Baltimore Maryland that celebrates the history of the immense Irish presence in Southwest Baltimore City in the late 1840's. The museum officially opened on June 17th, 2002. This site consists of a group of 5 alley houses where the Irish immigrants who worked for the adjoining B&O Railroad lived. Two of the houses, 918 and 920 Lemmon St., are the museum. The Irish Railroad Workers Museum is the centerpiece of a larger historical district that includes the B&O Railroad Museum, St. Peter the Apostle Church, the Hollins Street Market, and St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery. Frostburg Museum wishes to collect, preserve and present the things that have made our town special through the ages. We would like to present these artifacts in a pleasant and inviting environment and create an excitement in the visitors for our history. The museum operates through a large volunteer usage and has no paid permanent staff.

We are an educational non-profit organization dedicated to developing, maintaining, and exhibiting materials and artifacts focused on the history of Blacks in baseball. Our activities are aimed at every level from school age children to adults and including educators, businesses, and community resource persons. Our mission is to provide opportunities for research, exploration and advocacy and to encourage the efforts of children and adults to work together to create a community resource center in honor of the Negro Leagues.

The skipjack Nathan of Dorchester was built by volunteers in Cambridge, Maryland, in 1994, the last skipjack on the Chesapeake Bay built to be a dredge boat. It quickly became apparent that her true mission was in keeping the Bay's unique skipjack heritage alive through educational and recreational sails.
Our volunteer crew members are a crucial asset to our organization. They are extensively trained in all facets of operating these traditional wooden vessels. They also participate in the all-important and never-ending maintenance of the Nathan.

On each sail, we give visitors a glimpse of life on a waterman's oyster dredge boat. Each sail is unique, depending on wind, weather, captain and crew.

The Rising Sun Inn is a rare surviving example of pre-Revolutionary planter's framed-house built circa 1753 and was established as a tavern in 1785. Located on the famed Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary route, the Inn is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Thrasher Carriage Museum, one of the top collections of horse-drawn vehicles, represents every walk of life from the milkman to the wealthy. Pleasure vehicles, funeral wagons, sleighs, carts, and more are on display in the renovated 19th century warehouse.
