Description

ACV is the official state center for fine craft in Virginia. A young organization, the Center is currently exploring options for a permanent base in the Waynesboro, Virginia, area. Plus, the Center is working to open a branch location in Charlottesville, Virginia, which will serve as the model for additional branches in strategic locations across the state.

History

ACV's genesis goes back to the mid-1980s, with the formation of a group of artisans and craft advocates interested in coalesing the craft industry in Virginia. Always at the heart of planning was a physical presence for craft in the state. In 1997, the City of Waynesboro and a group of interested people formed a steering committee, worked hard, and opened the Gallery in June 2000. The Center continues to grow and has just crafted a new strategic plan for the future.
