Museum.History='Housed in the historic St. James Chapel, built in 1941 for the "Bluebirds" (organization of Chicago business women) for a place to worship. Historic Gold Hill Inc purchased it in 1997 to become the Gold Hill Museum.

Glenwood Railroad Museum

We attempt to preserve and present the rich railroad history of the Roaring Fork and Colorado river valleys, with photographic and interactive displays. The trains are running at the Glenwood Railroad Museum, located in the historic (1904) Rio Grande railroad depot. Two large rooms full of railroad history, with operating model trains, gift shop, photo displays and full-size Union Pacific, Amtrak and BNSF trains right outside.

Our community includes more than 250 dues-paying members, many corporate members, a year-round professional staff of eleven, over 100 volunteers and a Board of Directors. We serve more than 30,000 visitors a year at our three sites. We welcome families, tourists, history buffs, summer campers, curious folks and groups of all kinds. In addition to scout groups and senior groups, we share Colorado history with 2,800 school students every year.
